Want your own? Visit hekate.neocities.org!Hello, my name is Colm (he/him). I have been birdwatching since I have learned to walk, and I have been inspired by nature my whole life. I have an educational background in Ecology. I am from the Hackensack Meadowlands ecoregion, which is a collection of marshlands located in Northern New Jersey. This is the main area I go to birdwatch. This website is dedicated to the wetlands located in this region, and the wildlife that can be found here. This region has a fascinating ecological history, and has been heavily altered by human activity. Even so, there are many native animals, plants, and fungi that make their home here.
I am making this site because I am interested in learning to code, and want an alternative way to experience the internet to the ubiquitious social media. I have had a difficult time engaging with social media in a way that expresses my interests in ecology and naturalism, but in this place, I hope to change that, and possibly connect with more ecology oriented blogs and websites. Once this place is thoroughly up and running, expect posts about birdwatching, and local plants and animals to this area. As well as information about bird watching and the Hackensack Meadowlands ecoregion. I aim to share information about this region, and show that even a heavily urbanised and fragmented ecosystem still has much life in it to see.
